Last Tuesday all the classes in the junior school went for a trip to the Botanical Gardens.
It was so much fun to go together with all our friends.
We spent some time exploring the autumn leaves, collecting treasures for our scavenger hunt, making leaf boats, playing in the giant tree and playing on the playground.
Thank you to all the parents who helped out and came too!
Team 2 is made up of the Sky Room with Miss Clifford and the Forest Room with Miss D. Each room functions as their own routinely structured classroom in which the key areas of Literacy and Numeracy take place. As a team both classes enjoy sessions together where the children read and work together in pairs and groups to discover, learn and share from and with each other.

Starting of Sandpit Term
In sandpit term all the teachers and students get to learn and create in a metaphorical sandpit. This means we can teach and learn about the things that excite the children and be creative with our learning process.
Today was the start of our sandpit term where the children were introduced to their Technology topic. (technology got the most votes)
We researched two key questions in pairs on an ipad.
Keep checking our blog to find out what our exciting subject is!

More Statistics
Here are some more photos of us using cubes to make our bar graphs.
Ryan found that by linking all the bars together he could turn his block bar graph into a line graph.

Statistics in Team 2
In Rooms 6 and 7 (Team 2), we have been using statistics to find out about the children in our class.
We have been collecting data (information) , counting data and comparing this new information.
We have been making graphs and pictograms, then making comments and statements about what we find out. We found out that 18 children have brown eyes in our Team, while only 2 have blue eyes.
We also counted and compared the number of boys and girls in each room, making bar graphs to represent this.

Team 2's Assembly End of Term 1
We really enjoyed putting on a play of Dr Seuss's Sneetches story. This story is a reminder about how we can be friends with others even if they are different from us.
The children worked hard, one group on learning lines and acting for the play, the others in set and prop construction.
