Hello to a New Year! Hello to a New Term!

Welcome to all our wonderful new students and families in the forest and sky collaborative team. It hs wonderful to have you joining us this year.
We hope to be sharing lots of our lovely learning with you here this year.
If your child comes home asking you to check the class blog, it may mean that we have posted a new video or shared some of their learning here with you!

We are all already looking forward to getting some of our learning up here so hold your breath and see what come s next!

Caring For My Body

In Team 2 we have been learning about our bodies and growing. For the first part of our unit we have been making educational videos to explain how to keep ourselves clean and tidy.
We worked in groups which included the roles of 'cameraman', 'props' manager, and presenters.

Practice for Our Play!

Measuring Me! - Discovery time on a Friday afternoon

We had a great afternoon pattern making and shape building with Lego, using the kinetic sand and pattern making and measuring with clip blocks. Here Mrs Cassidy is helping us by unlinking the blocks where they match our height. Then we count them all to see how many blocks tall we are!

We had to join together a lot of blocks first! 

Alex and his math's strategy!

The Lightning Group have been learning about place value. They are extending their 'counting in tens' strategy by adding up in tens and using numbers bigger than 100.

Here Alex explains how he works out the question 65 + 60 =
He starts with the number which includes both a tens and ones number and records 6 more additional 10s.
