Swimming Lessons at Canterbury Swim School.

After our first week of swimming lessons everyone has improved so much!  Most students are floating on their front and back, swimming with kick boards and practising arm circles.  Everyone is happy swimming with their head under the water now!!

Welcome Back to Term 4!

It's only been two days into the new term and already there is lots happening.

The term has started of with a blast of swimming lessons in preparation for the summer.

Spring makes a wonderful context for learning about growth and change. Our topic for the first two weeks is using science and growing plants to learn more about maths and measurement!

Here we are planting our 'Little Garden' seedlings together.

We are also focusing on getting our digital technology skills polished up. Miss Morgan is helping the junior school teachers!

We are all looking for ward to a fantastic term ahead!

Getting ready for our Extravaganza in Room 7

Room 7 is performing a piece about WW1. We have been learning about the solders going to war from New Zealand, and the hardships they faced in the trenches.  Aside from the sadness of WW1, the children have really enjoyed creating props for our show and dressing up in clothing of the 1900s.

Giant clocks and other fun with TIME

We have been having fun with giant clocks (and normal size ones too!). We even have some old digital alarm clocks Mr Roberts gave us when clearing out his old office. We are learning to order activities we do during the day on a timeline and to show the times on a clock. We even had a Team 'Kahoot' quiz about time which was fun but very loud and exciting!
